Singles … If you are 18 or older, not married, a widow or divorced, then you qualify. Saturday, March 13, we will meet at the Church of the Nazarene to take the van to Penns Creek Pottery. After that we will be going to the Barn Yard Restaurant in Millmont. The restaurant will be at each person’s own expense. If you would like to attend, please call Connie Nolder (570) 259-0690.
Spring 2010 Lay Speaking Classes … Registrations for Basic and Advanced Lay Speaking Class are now being accepted. Courses will be held on April 11, 18, 25 and May 2 from 2-5 p.m. at the Lightstreet UMC. Courses being offered are “Basic Lay Speaking” and “Life From the UP side.” Cost is $40. Instructors are Ryan Gephart, Charles Kind and Dennis Derr. Deadline for registrations is April 5. If you are interested, please contact the church office for a registration form.
College Scholarships Available Through United Methodist Church … The Central Pennsylvania Conference awards two or three merit scholarships each. Scholarships are available for students who are or will be attending United Methodist-related colleges such as Lebanon Valley College, Dickinson College, Lycoming College and Albright College. The conference also has funds available for racial-ethnic students. Students can also apply for scholarships through General Board of Higher Education and Ministry in Nashville, TN. In addition to scholarships for students attending United Methodist-related colleges, they also administer scholarships for students who are not attending United Methodist-related colleges.
